For the past year, skincare has been a big priority of mine. Beforehand, I hadn’t really known anything about skincare and didn’t think about it. My mind was filled with foundations, Concealers, and anything that would make my skin look better. For some reason, I never thought taking care of my actual skin would be the answer. My skincare journey was pretty rocky at first. I tried products with lots of chemicals and other uglies, such as parabens (ew). With so many products on the market, it’s hard to figure out which ones are legitimately good. Here are some of my tips to finding your holy grail products. My first tip is to use a Toner. Without using one your pores will become clogged no matter how many face masks you do. My favourite skincare product in the entire world is my Thayers Alcohol Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel. You can find it at any natural stores and I would seriously recommend giving it a try.
My second tip is to wash your face after you wash your hair. A lot of the time your shampoo could be the thing that’s making you break out. After we washing your hair ALWAYS wash your face. Thank me later.
Drink water. I know this is annoying to hear, but it works wonders for your body. Want glowing skin? Drink more water! A tip I have is to fill up a water bottle and drink it as soon as you wake up. That way you stay hydrated.
Use a good makeup remover. A lot of makeup removers could be really rough on the skin so I recommend using an oil based one. Oil easily breaks up the makeup and moisturizes your skin at the same time.
Go natural! My best tip is to go natural. What do I mean by this? Use products that tell you what is ingredients they use. Places like Lush and The Body Shop are great because you know exactly what’s going on your skin. Lots of products have harsh chemicals and parabens that could make you break out or effect your skin negatively. Do some research and figure out which ingredients are best for you.
Those are my tips on getting clear skin.
A quick disclaimer: *I am in no way bragging about how my skin looks, I often get asked how I get clear skin so I am simply explaining. I am proud of how my skin looks and I want others to be too.*
