Recently I’ve had a realization about the products I use. They are tested on animals. I feel like everyone knows that subconsciously, but doesn’t know enough about it to act on the issue. I had become a vegetarian maybe a month ago and it made me rethink the way I live. I couldn’t believe the amount of companies that test on animals and seeing pictures and videos of these animals in small cages was enough to have me upset. I never thought about how bad it was, people are rarely informed on the atrocities of animal testing.

With that being said, I decided to make a change. I vowed to myself that I would never buy a non cruelty-free product again. This is a pretty big commitment considering some of my favourite products were cruelty-free. I’m on the lookout for the best cruelty-free products, so if you know any, please let me know!!

If you are also against animal testing, please sign This Petition  from The Body Shop to help stop it. I recommend doing some research on this issue to be more informed because unfortunately most of us aren’t. I wasn’t.

I am not sponsored or being payed in any way to say this. I just want this issue to be recognized, and hopefully one day, resolved.

Thank you for reading.

  1. This is amazing. Most of makeup I own is from Essence and Catrice which are cruelty free, but I have some brands that are not so I’m trying to stop myself from buying from them. xx

    1. Thank you! Yeah going cruelty-free could be hard, but it’s worth it❤️

  2. Ah that’s so great you’ve made the change! I really recommend NYX & Essence for drugstore/affordable products. There are many other great brands too, such as Morphe, Makeup Geek, Milani, Colourpop & Spectrum are my favourite for brushes! Xx

    1. I’m obsessed with NYX and Essence! Cruelty-free and affordable is always good. Xx

  3. Thank you for highlighting such an issue. I too just started to make the effort to not use animal tested products. I found that MAC, ULTA, E.L.F, NYX, and Blackheart (might be a US only brand) do not test on animals. So I stick to those brands. I can’t stand the thought of animals being tortured for my beauty products.

    1. Thank you for reading! I have become quite passionate about what goes into a product and testing on animals is no different. I hope one day brands will stop this awful method.
